Police Chase Man In Stolen Lamborghini Onto Route 17, Parkway: PD

Police chased a man in a stolen $218K car through Bergen County on Monday.

PARAMUS, NJ — Police chased a man in a stolen Lamborghini onto Route 17 and the Garden State Parkway before capturing him early Monday morning, officials said.

Paramus police arrested Munir Muhammad, 21, of Newark, on charges of receiving stolen property and related offenses.

Police said that just after 5 a.m. on Monday, they were notified by the Elmwood Park Police Department of a car that had been stolen during a commercial burglary.

The 2021 Lamborghini Urus, bearing California plates, was heading northbound on Route 17, police were told.

Officer Julia Koenemund saw the car speeding on the highway, police said. When police approached with lights and sirens, the driver failed to stop, and a chase ensued.

The car drove onto the Garden State Parkway and stopped in Hillside. "Multiple" people got of the car and ran, say police.

Officer Slavko Bajovic chased the suspects and managed to capture Muhammad.

He was charged with second degree receiving stolen property, resisting arrest by flight, and resisting arrest by physical force. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a court appearance, police said.
