Update: Spring Valley Incident 'Not Criminal'

Update, June 7: Chief Christopher Brock said an investigation revealed the incident at Spring Valley Road was "not criminal in nature." Police received a 911 call of a crime in progress and responded in kind, though investigators determined that a crime hadn't occured.

responded to an incident on Spring Valley Road between Schaeffer Avenue and Broadway Boulevard Wednesday morning.

Ten police vehicles blocked Spring Valley Road traffic on both sides. Police were seen searching properties on the west side of the street and interviewing residents.

An Paramus Emergency Medical Services ambulance left the scene after 11 a.m.

Police on scene wouldn't reveal any further information.
