Requesting Library Materials While Main Library is Temporarily Closed

While Paramus' Main Library is closed for Major Renovation work from September 11 to October 4, the Library Staff has been asked the following question - When requesting library material how can I have them sent to another library location?

Here's how!

1. Visit catalog.bccls.org

2. Search for the book or other item that you are seeking.

3. Once you find the item that you want, click on the light blue "Place Request" button on the right side of the screen.

4. If you have not logged into your account, you will be asked to log in. To log in, you will need your username or library card number (this is the 14-digit number located under the barcode on your library card) and your password (previously your PIN).

5. Once you log in, you should see the last four digits of your barcode number, your username (if you have one), a drop-down box with your home town library listed (this is your default pick-up library), and an activation date.

6. To change the pick-up library, click on the arrow to the right of your home town library.  From the list, select the library that you would like the item delivered to. The Charles E. Reid Branch Library is located immediately below Paramus' Main Library in this list.

7. After you have selected a pick-up library, click on the grey "Submit Request" button to place your request.

If you have already made a request, unfortunately, there is no way to change the pick-up library. But don’t worry!  Any books that have been directed for pick up at Paramus’ Main Library will be sent to the Reid Branch Library by library staff. If you receive a pick-up email from Paramus’ Main Library, please ignore it.  This email is automatically generated during the transportation and receiving process. LIBRARY STAFF WILL CALL YOU WHEN REQUESTED LIBRARY MATERIALS HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED AND ARE READY TO BE PICKED UP AT THE REID BRANCH LIBRARY.
