Route 17 Ramp In Paramus To Be Closed Overnight For Road Repairs: What To Know

The Route 17 northbound ramp from Century Road will be closed for up to two weeks.

PARAMUS, NJ — The Route 17 northbound ramp from Century Road will be closed and detoured Monday through Thursday nights for several weeks to make sidewalk repairs and ADA improvements in Paramus.

Closures are scheduled through Tuesday, July 21 but may be extended due to inclement weather and other factors.

Beginning at 10 p.m. on Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, the following detours will be in place:

Century Road to Route 17 northbound Detour:

  • Motorists on Century Road wishing to take the ramp to Route 17 northbound will be directed to North Fairview Avenue.
  • Turn right onto Carlough Drive, back to Route 17 northbound.

Route 17 southbound to Route 17 northbound U-turn Detour:

  • Motorists on Route 17 southbound wishing to make a U-turn at Century Road will be directed to take the ramp to Century Road/River Edge/Fair Lawn
  • Stay left towards Route 17 north/River Edge
  • Stay right to continue straight onto Century Road
  • Turn right onto North Fairview Avenue
  • Turn right onto Carlough Drive, back to Route 17 northbound

The work is part of a $12.3 million state-funded maintenance project that will repair concrete structures at various locations in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties. These repairs will improve rideability and safety, while prolonging the service life of the structure.
