“We’re pretty happy with the direction we’re moving in,” head coach Glenn Hauge said. “We’re still a bit of a work in progress.”
Girls Tennis:
The girls tennis team competed in the Comet Invitational Tournament, going 1-2 in the process.
Looking Ahead:
The football team will face a big test in a home game against Old Tappan.
“Hopefully this is an opportunity to redeem ourselves,” Sabella said.
Paramus lost to the Golden Knights twice last season.
Sabella was quick to remember that Old Tappan, led by superstar quarterback Devin Fuller, kept his team from a trip to the Meadowlands.
The boys soccer team will take on Hudson Catholic at today at 4 p.m.
The girls team will not play until next Thursday, when they take on Old Tappan.
Athlete of the Week:
Actually, it should be athletes of the week.
Sophomore Noel Hodgins scored a goal against Bergen Tech and had two assists against Hackensack.
Hauge admired Hodgins’ “unselfish play,” as the forward sent balls back across the six-yard box to her teammates.
The biggest question mark heading into the season for the girls soccer team was at keeper. Lauren Feorenzo has made seven saves and allowed only one goal in her first two appearances at the position.
