These Paramus Teachers Are Among The Highest Paid In NJ

PARAMUS, NJ — A few local teachers are among the highest paid in New Jersey.

The state Department of Education released its annual list of teachers' salaries for 2017. The Paramus teachers who made the list all make significantly more than the average statewide salary of $70,637, which also includes librarians, guidance counselors, and other non-administrative staff, according to an NJ Spotlight analysis.

The local teachers who are among the 1,000 highest paid are:

• Paul Barnes, Paramus High School, $117,650
• Kristine Hodson, Parkway Elementary School, $115,420
• Elissa Cahn, Midland Elementary School, $114,450
• Kathryn Looney, Ridge Ranch Elementary School, $114,450
• Kathleen Alvarez, West Brook Middle School, $114,450
• Anne Margare Cuviello, West Brook Middle School, $114,450
• Kenneth Korn, Parkway Elementary School, $114,450
• Michael Deluca, Paramus High School, $114,450
• Sula Bernstein, East Brook Middle School, $114,450
