PARSIPPANY, NJ — It's rare enough for one student from a high school graduating class to make it into one of the major military academies. But two recent Parsippany High School earned the accolade.
Clayton “CJ” Bernauer and Kenneth Johnson enrolled at the U.S. Military Academy and Naval Academy, respectively. Applicants need to procure either a congressional nomination or a service-connected nomination to demonstrate prowess in academics, physical fitness and leadership.
In addition to strength in the classroom, both participated in sports. Johnson played basketball and football, while Bernauer swam for the RedHawks and Lakeland Hills YMCA.
