2022 Election Guide For Parsippany: Candidates, How To Vote
Here's what Parsippany residents need to know about voting in the general election in 2022.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Election Day is coming up Nov. 8, and Parsippany residents will head to the polls for a variety of races. Here’s what you need to know about voting in Parsippany.
The Parsippany Board of Education race will take center stage in the township. Seven candidates are running for three available school board seats:
- Kendra Von Achen, incumbent
- Andrew Choffo, incumbent
- Alison C. Cogan, incumbent
- Yvonne Ferise
- Michelle Shappell
- Jack S. Raia
- Falgun Bakhtarwala
Parsippany doesn't have elections this year for mayor or Township Council, so the school board race represents the biggest local matter in this election cycle.

The township will also cast votes for the House representative in New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. Democratic incumbent Mikie Sherrill faces challenges from Republican Paul DeGroot and independent candidate Joseph Biasco.
Parsippany also has a say in the Morris County Board of Commissioners election. There are six candidates running for three seats, each for a three-year term: Doug Cabana, Judith Hernandez, Tom Mastrangelo, Thomas "TC" McCourt, Christine Myers and Baramdai "Alicia" Sharma.

HOW TO VOTE
Election Day takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8. There are three ways to turn in your ballot for the 2022 general election in New Jersey. Here is where to find your polling place.
Vote By Mail: Every active registered voter is eligible to request a vote-by-mail ballot. If you would like to receive your ballot by mail, you must request your ballot not less than seven days before an election. Otherwise, you must get your vote-by-mail ballot in-person from your county clerk by 3 p.m. the day before Election Day. Voters have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to return their ballot to the Board of Elections in-person, or deposit it in one of their county’s authorized ballot drop boxes. You can also mail your ballot; it must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Vote In-Person (Early): New Jersey passed a law in 2021 that allows residents to vote early during a nine-day period before Election Day. For the 2022 general election, the early voting period takes place from Oct. 29 to Nov. 6. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday). You can cast a ballot at any early-voting location in your county. Parsippany has one at the Morris County Central Ave. Complex (2 Executive Dr., Morris Plains), but here's a list of all early-voting sites in the state.
Vote In-Person (on Election Day): The 2022 general election takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find your location polling place here.
