$521 Million Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Morris County
Life changed overnight for one Morris County lottery player when their ticket won a massive $521 million jackpot.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County lottery ticket buyer won the massive $521 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot on Friday.
The winning ticket for the Friday night drawing was sold at Riverdale Lukoil South in Riverdale and was the only winning ticket, New Jersey Lottery said on its Twitter account. The half billion dollar jackpot is the fourth largest in the game's history.

After taxes, the winner will take home $317 million in cash. The largest jackpot was drawn 6 years ago to the day and was worth $656 million.
"Hearty congratulations to New Jersey for their big Mega Millions win," said Gordon Medenica, Mega Millions lead director. "The whole country can't wait to meet the newest millionaire, but we all shared in the fun of playing."

Morris County might have had the only jackpot winner, but other states saw residents take home generous prizes as well. Two tickets sold in Ohio and Texas matched the five white balls to win $1 million each.
The jackpot was last won on Jan 5., when a Florida man took home $451 million.
