Woman, 93-Year-Old Mother Displaced After Parsippany House Fire

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Two residents were left homeless after a residential fire tore through their home, according to police.

On May 6, around 2:15 p.m., authorities were called to 9 Vail Road on reports of a residential fire.

First responders arrived to find that flames and heavy smoke were coming from a window on the side of the home.

The home’s two occupants, a 67-year-old woman and her 93-year-old mother, were safely rescued from the burning home by police officers, according to authorities.

The fire was eventually suppressed, but the home was deemed uninhabitable by fire officials.

No injuries were reported to either occupant or first responders.

The mother-daughter duo spent the evening in a hotel following the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to police.

Responding to the blaze were the Parsippany Fire Department District 5, the Lake Hiawatha Fire Department, and the Boonton Fire Department. Also responding were the Par-Troy EMS and Rockaway Neck Volunteer First Aid Squad.
