PARSIPPANY, NJ — Parsippany residents will be able to get in-person help with benefits and service referrals when the Navigating Hope Van visits the Parsippany Senior Community Center on Wednesday, June 3.
The Navigating Hope van is a mobile social services program in Morris County that provides on-site benefits screening, application assistance, and resources directly to residents. The program was created in partnership with the Morris County Department of Human Services and Family Promise of Morris County.
According to the township, the mobile outreach resource will be at the center, 1130 Knoll Road in Lake Hiawatha, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills invited residents to visit the van for help connecting with essential services, benefits, and support programs.
The announcement states that staff will be available to help residents apply for assistance and provide referrals to community resources. Residents can seek application help for SNAP, or food stamps, healthcare and Medicaid, WIC nutritional assistance, utility assistance, housing assistance, child support assistance, and General Assistance or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
Other assistance services may include affordable housing and shelter resources, aging services, domestic violence services, veterans’ services, health and wellness services, legal services, transportation assistance, food pantries, and more.
The event is set for the Parsippany Senior Community Center, a township site in the Lake Hiawatha section. The announcement describes the Navigating Hope Van as a community services and benefits assistance resource for individuals and families.
The township does not list any registration requirements or documents that residents should bring. It also does not identify a limit on who may attend beyond saying the township invites residents to visit.
