PARSIPPANY, NJ — Residents should be aware that starting this month, the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills has placed a water restriction policy in effect. As of June 1, property owners can only water their lawns on certain days and within certain hours.
“In the summer months, the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills experiences extremely high water consumption, much of which can be attributed to the inefficient, and at times, wasteful overwatering of lawns,” a statement read. “In an effort to conserve water, the Water Department has implemented permanent lawn water restrictions to level out weekly water usage throughout the Township.”
The restrictions are laid out per Ordinance 420-9E. Below is the Residential Lawn Watering Schedule provided by the Parsippany-Troy Hills Water Department:
The following is the Non-Residential Lawn Watering Schedule:
The restrictions will be lifted on Sept. 30.
Lawns with newly installed sod or seed can be issued a two-week exemption from the restrictions. Property owners with questions can contact the Water Department at 973-263-7099 or sandres@parsippany.net.
Those found not complying with the restrictions are subject to summonses with mandatory court appearances and fines.
