PARSIPPANY, NJ — The New Jersey Attorney General's Office publicly released all the names of New Jersey police officers who were subject to "major discipline" in 2025, and three police officers with the Parsippany Police Department are on that list.
On June 12, the state AG office released its annual Major Discipline Report, which lists details for hundreds of police officers in the state. The report covers the period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025.
According to the attorney general’s office, "major discipline" is defined as terminations, reductions in rank, or suspension of more than five days. Pending cases are not included in the data set.

Sgt. Kornas was suspended for ten days for "Prohibited Activity On-Duty."
"Sgt. Kornas was found to be sitting idle for extended periods of time in his patrol vehicle. Specifically, between the dates of May 19th, 2024, and July 15th, 2024, over the course of 27 duty days, he was found to be idle 40% of the time. The conduct occurred in 2024, but was finalized in 2025."
Sgt. McGinnis was suspended for 15 days for "Neglect of Duty/Failure to Exercise Necessary Control over Subordinates."
"On December 27, 2022, despite receiving and hearing radio traffic which indicated that subordinate officers were pursuing a vehicle in violation of departmental rules, regulations, and laws, Sgt. McGinnis failed to conduct any supervisory actions. Specifically, Sgt. McGinnis failed to order his subordinate officers to terminate the unauthorized pursuit, as is his duty. The conduct occurred in 2022, but was finalized in 2025. Discipline imposed: Sergeant McGinnis was suspended for fifteen (15) days, Sgt. McGinnis forfeited eight (8) vacation days, and Sergeant McGinnis was removed from the active promotional list for the rank of Lieutenant."
Officer Piccininni was suspended for 15 days for "Neglect of Duty."
"On March 5th, 2025, Ptl. Piccininni was found sleeping while on duty, which resulted in his failure to respond to radio transmissions and two separate dispatches."
Officer Piccininni was suspended for five days for being "Late for Shift."
"On April 6th, 2025, Ptl. Piccininni failed to report for duty at his assigned time and arrived 50 minutes late."
