PARSIPPANY, NJ — A woman was rescued from Parsippany Lake this week after she drove into it, authorities said.
On Tuesday, around 4:30 p.m., police were called to Parsippany Lake on reports of a woman and her car in the water.
Authorities discovered that the woman, 27, was driving on Adelphia Road when she didn't stop at the intersection at Lake Shore Drive, crossed over the curb and grassy area, and came to rest in Lake Parsippany, police said.
The woman got out of the car on her own and was soon helped to shore by rescue crews. She was taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.
Fire personnel determined there were no haz-mat issues, and the vehicle was safely removed from Lake Parsippany.
Details on the condition of the woman were not immediately available, but authorities did not report any major injuries.
No summonses have been issued at this time.
