Head-On Crash In Parsippany Leads To Charges For Woman

Police say the driver of a medical van ran a red light.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A woman is facing charges following a head-on crash in Parsippany last week.

According to documents obtained by Patch.com, police responded to a collision at the intersection of Littleton Road East and Smith Road on Aug. 11 around 5 p.m.

Police learned that a Passaic woman, driving northbound in a Ford Transit Connect, owned by Valley Medical Transport LLC, had run a red light at the intersection.

Meanwhile, a Parsippany woman driving a Jeep was headed southbound through the intersection while having a green light, according to the police report.

The two cars proceeding through the intersection resulted in a head-on collision, police say.

The driver of the Ford, Davida Valdesalvarez, 51, was charged with careless driving and disregarding a traffic control device.
