1. 'No Kill' Status Achieved By Parsippany Animal Control & Shelter (patch.com) — Parsippany-Troy Hills Animal Control & Shelter has earned official no-kill status, saving more than 90 percent of the cats and dogs it cared for in 2025. Shelter leaders credit Parsippany and Hanover residents for adopting, fostering, volunteering, donating, and spreading the word, and say they plan to build on this community-driven success.
2. Class of 2017 rings blessed at All Saints' Mass (beaconnj.org) — Students and families at All Saints Academy in Parsippany gathered at St. Peter the Apostle Church as Bishop Kevin Sweeney celebrated the opening Mass for the new school year and blessed class rings for the eighth graders. Parsippany parishes St. Ann's, St. Peter's and St. Christopher's, along with St. Pius in Montville, were highlighted for their close collaboration in running the school.
3. 25 Years Later, Morris County Vows to 'Never Forget' Sept. 11 Victims (parsippanyfocus.com) — Parsippany residents joined families, first responders, and officials at the Morris County 9/11 Memorial in Parsippany-Troy Hills to honor the 64 county residents lost in the attacks. Speakers, including Parsippany resident and Secret Service Medal of Valor recipient Dennis Letts, emphasized unity, service, and preparing local emergency response so today's first responders return safely home.
4. Former Parsippany Man Sentenced to 16 Years in Fatal Route 80 Crash (parsippanyfocus.com) — A man who previously lived in Parsippany-Troy Hills has been sentenced to 16 years in state prison for driving the wrong way on Route 80 in Rockaway Township, causing a fatal crash. Prosecutors say he showed signs of impairment at the scene, and a jury convicted him of aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide after a five-day trial.
5. Greystone patient in fatal 2019 stabbing denied transfer to less-restrictive facility (morristowngreen.com) — A psychiatric patient linked to a fatal 2019 stabbing at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, which sits on the Morris Plains–Parsippany border, has been denied transfer from a high-security facility for at least six more months. A judge cited his violent history and expert testimony about ongoing risk, despite his attorney's arguments that years of good behavior should count toward a less-restrictive placement.
