PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Mack truck carrying a massive crane hit a bridge on a Parsippany highway this week, creating massive traffic delays, police said.
On Wednesday, around 7:45 a.m., police were called to I-287 near milepost 39.8 on reports of a crash.
Authorities learned that a Mack truck, hauling a crane on its trailer, was driving on I-287 when the crane slammed into a bridge overpass support beam, police said.
The impact sent the crane flying off of the trailer and into a Volvo SUV, according to authorities.
The driver, as well as a passenger, of the Volvo were sent to the hospital for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
