PARSIPPANY, NJ — A man is dead following a wild chain of events after a major crash on a busy Morris County highway.
On Friday, around 5:45 a.m., police were called to Interstate 80 in Parsippany near milepost 41.8 on reports of a car crash.
Authorities learned that an Toyota SUV being driven by Daniel Sanchez Valencia, 26, of Wharton, had veered off the side of the left side of the road onto a grass median and crashed into a tree.
When Valencia got out of his car, it began to roll backwards, striking him and another tree, according to officials.
The impact from the second collision caused fatal injuries, and Valencia was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The incident is under investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
