Barstool's David Portnoy Visits Parsippany Pizzeria

The self-described pizza connoisseur returned to Morris County to conduct his famous "One Bite" pizza reviews.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — David Portnoy, otherwise known as “El Presidente” of Barstool Sports, stopped into Parsippany recently to conduct one of his world-famous pizza reviews.

For years, the internet icon has been stopping into pizzerias across the country and ranking their pies on a scale of one through ten. His appearances and scores have increased (and sometimes decreased) the popularity of pizza joints across the U.S.

This week, he strolled into Famiglia Pizzeria Modern Italian Kitchen, located in the Troy Hills Shopping Center on Route 46, to see what Parsippany had to offer pizza-wise.

Representatives from the pizzeria called the encounter "a day we won’t forget."

"Thanks to @stoolpresidente Dave Portnoy for stopping by La Famiglia," a Facebook post read. "It was a pleasure meeting you and serving our pizza."

Portnoy and his team haven't posted the review of Famiglia Pizzeria's pie just yet, but it's expected to be released soon on YouTube and other video platforms.

As usual, the video will feature Portnoy trying the pizza and ranking it on a scale of 1-10. For context, the only 10/10 perfect score Portnoy ever gave was Monty's Pizza in Lynn, Massachusetts. The second-highest was given to another Garden State spot, DeLucia's Brick Oven in Raritan, which earned a 9.4/10.

Famiglia Pizzeria opened up last year and has become a popular go-to pizza spot for many locals. Portnoy's visit will likely draw an even larger crowd.

The pizzeria, while closed on Mondays, is open from 11 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. It is open until 9:45 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

In April, Portnoy was spotted doing a One Bite Pizza Review in Morristown.
