Bullet Found In Brooklawn Middle School Hallway

Breaking: No one was injured, and it's unclear where it came from.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Brooklawn Middle School was place on lockdown after a bullet was found in the hallway, Parsippany Police said Friday afternoon.

The bullet was found at 2:25 p.m. by a student, and the school was placed on lockdown afterwards. Police searched the school for any possible threats, weapons, or other ammunition.

After police finished the search, students were dismissed for the day around 3 p.m.

It was not immediately clear where the bullet came from, but police said they would be conducting an investigation. No students were injured.

"We are proud of our students and staff for following our security protocol and apologize for any distress this may have caused. Counselors will be available on Tuesday for any student needing to speak with them," an official for the district said.
