The Chatterbox Could Become A Wawa
The beloved diner could become a convenience store, if a proposed sale goes through.

AUGUSTA, NJ — The beloved jukebox diner The Chatterbox Drive-In could become a Wawa if a proposed sale goes through, the owner told New Jersey Herald.
Owner Don Hall told the paper he's planning on selling the property, located at the corner of Route 15 and Route 206, to Wawa, but stressed that the deal is not set in stone. It must first be approved by the local Land Use Board, and Wawa could still withdraw, he said.
Hall said the restaurant will most likely be open for the next year before closing. He cited a heavy work load and his age as some of the factors behind selling the diner.

The Chatterbox is a 1950s style restaurant that serves classic American fare, like hamburgers and hot dogs. It's gained a cult following over the years, with customers driving from around the state to enjoy the atmosphere.
If the deal goes through, this would be the first Wawa in Sussex County. There are currently no Wawas within a 20 mile radius of Augusta.
