PARSIPPANY, NJ — Parsippany Police received a call Monday night regarding a person wearing a clown mask and carrying a plastic machete at the Quick Chek at 490 N. Beverwyck Road.
Multiple officers arrived at the scene to talk to the person who called. The caller said a male in a clown mask came up to her as she exited the store and made gestures to her in a manner to scare her, police said. The suspect then fled to the side of the building, out of her view.
Officers spoke to a second witness who said he was walking around the side of the building when the man in the clown mask approached him. The suspect was dragging the machete on the ground and tried to scare the man.
