Former Lake Hiawatha Librarian, Longtime Resident Dies at 80
Mary Anen was a member of VFW Post 5153 and St. Peter the Apostle church.

Mary Anen spent more than 50 years living in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany, much of that time as a staple in town.
The longtime resident died recently at age 80, according to her obituary.
Anen was born in Newark and grew up in Orange before moving to Lake Hiawatha in 1958. She spent more than 25 years as an assistant librarian for the Lake Hiawatha library.

She was also a member of the VFW Post 5153 in Whippany and Eucharistic Minister and member of the rosary society at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Parsippany.
Anen was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1993, and her son, Lenny, in 2010.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters.
