Gas Station's Building Catches Fire In Parsippany Area

No injuries were reported at the Mobil gas station on Route 53.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — The building at a Mobil gas station on Route 53 caught fire Saturday. No injuries were reported, according to the Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department.

Officials saw heavy smoke from the one-story building at 11:26 a.m. Saturday. After further investigation, they determined the fire was in the roof and there was smoke throughout the structure. The building was evacuated.

As crews arrived, firefighters conducted a quick knock of the visible fire and performed ventilation on the roof. Additional resources arrived on-scene to assist.

Assisting agencies included the fire departments from Rainbow Lakes, Cedar Knolls, Boonton and Morris Plains, the Parsippany Police Department, Par-Troy EMS and the Morris County Coordinators.
