Credit Cards Compromised At Morris County Gas Station
Police believe the gas station are not the actors but potential victims of the credit card skimming.
DENVILLE, NJ — Did you get gas in Denville recently? Your credit card info may have been stolen.
Officials discovered credit card skimming devices on several pumps in a Denville gas station, local police said Wednesday. The skimming devices are used to capture unsuspecting customers' card information. This information was later used to make various fraudulent purchases with the victim's credit card, police said.
The discovery took place during an inspection from the New Jersey Division of Weights and Measures. Denville police did not reveal the station in which the skimming occurred.

"It’s still under investigation, so we’re not releasing that at this time," Chief Frank Perna told Patch. "It’s believed that they (the gas station) are not the actors but are possible victims."
Denville police are investigating several reports of credit card fraud that may be related to the skimming devices. They believe there may be more victims that haven't come forward.

If you have utilized a credit or debit card to purchase gasoline from any gas stations within the last few months, Denville police recommend reviewing your credit card or bank statements.
