Hoyt Continues to Deliver for Par Hills

Junior pitcher leads Vikings to two wins in three games last week.

The softball team secured wins in two of three games last week, sandwiching a 3-0 loss to Pope John in between wins over Morristown and Morris Hills.

During that time, starting pitcher Molly Hoyt has emerged as a main cog in the Par Hills’ success as she held Morristown and Morris Hills to a combined five hits and one run, while striking out seven and locking down wins Nos. four and five for the Vikings.

Even in Par Hills’ loss to Pope John, Hoyt, who head coach Chrissy Russell referred to as a "a natural-born leader on and off the field," was effective as she allowed just three hits and struck out six, dropping a tough 3-0 decision at home.

"Molly worked very hard in the offseason and preseason to perfect the different pitches that she throws," Russell said. "Her confidence has grown tremendously as she has really stepped her game up to the next level.  I look forward to watching her excel during the rest of the season and taking on an even larger role within the team next year."
