As Indoor Dining Begins, Parsippany Mayor Urges Vigilance

PARSIPPANY, NJ – As restaurants reopen for indoor dining on Friday, Parsippany Mayor Michael Soriano is appealing to residents to continue taking care of each other in the fight against the coronavirus.
In a video posted to Facebook Thursday evening, Soriano laid out the rules and regulations for restaurants to reopen indoor dining safely and with the intention of mitigating the spread of the coronavirus.
Per New Jersey law, restaurants are now allowed to have patrons dine indoors at 25 percent capacity. Everyone inside except those who are seated or children under the age of 2 are required to wear masks at all times. This includes servers, hosts and kitchen staff.

Six feet of social distancing will be required between seated tables, as well as patrons waiting to be seated.
"Whether or not restaurants continue to utilize outdoor dining will be up to the restaurant," Soriano said.

Regulations regarding outdoor dining have not changed.
"New Jersey is still among the leading states in the nation in our collective fight against COVID-19," he said. "By continuing to follow social distancing guidelines and common sense safety measures, we can accelerate the path to our new normal. Starting this weekend, let's support our favorite restaurants, have a fun time with family and friends, and continue to take safety measures seriously."
Tomorrow, Friday, September 4, New Jersey restaurants will be able to open for indoor dining at 25% capacity. Several requirements have been put in place by the state to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
