July 4th Fireworks 2022 Near Parsippany

Parsippany's annual concert and fireworks are set for Independence Day. Here are some local 4th of July events.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Parsippany's Fourth of July fireworks last year marked the first time since the pandemic began that the township could gather for a major, in-person event. And it's almost that time of the season again.

The township's fireworks show will take place July 4 (rain date July 5) at Parsippany Hills High School. Hometown band Overboard will take the stage at about 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will start at dark — typically around 9:30 p.m.

  • What: July Fourth Celebration at Morristown National Historical Park
  • Where: Washington's Headquarters, 30 Washington Pl., Morristown
  • When: activities begin at noon July 4
  • What else to know: After a "Warm-Up for the Declaration," a reading of the Declaration of Independence will begin at 1 p.m. Following the reading, the Ford Mansion will be open for self-guided tours, with re-enactors in period dress bringing life to the mansion.
  • What: Lake Hopatcong Fireworks
  • Where: Launched From Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club, 75 North Bertrand Road, Mt. Arlington
  • When: July 1, approximately 9:30 (rain date July 9)
  • What else to know: The fireworks in Lake Hopatcong are being launched from the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club, with the club having hosted its yearly display since the 1950s. Residents around and visitors to the state's largest lake, like to drop their anchors for a view within the yacht club; or at restaurants on the water.
  • What: Town of Dover Fireworks
  • Where: Hamilton Field, 302 E McFarlan St.
  • When: gates open at 6 p.m. July 1, rain date July 2
  • What else to know: Food will be available for purchase, and seating will be limited to the bleachers or track. Local resident "DJ ALEX" Gomez will spin some tunes.
