Kayaker Rescued From Morris Co. Reservoir: Report

The woman was pulled out of the water Saturday night.

ROCKAWAY, NJ — A kayaker was rescued from the Splitrock Reservoir after she lost her kayak, Rockaway Township firefighters told the Daily Record.

The woman was kayaking alone on Saturday, Rockaway Township Fire Director Robert Sheard said. She tied her kayak up when she was done, but the kayak go loose and floated away. She swam after the kayak to retrieve it, but was unable to grab it, the report said.

Firefighters started looking for her after her brother reported her missing later that night. She was pulled out of the water and evaluated for injuries at the scene.
