Last Call For Burgers: Parsippany Burger King Closes

You had a lot of thoughts about the Parsippany Burger King closing.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Sunday, April 30th, is the last day a Parsippany institution will be open for business: the Route 46 Burger King. After a renovation, the longstanding building will re-open as one of two Starbucks opening in town.

Parsippany natives had a lot to say about the change.

Some of you are sad to see the Burger King go...

Not a big fan of BK but do we really need another coffee spot? You already have places to get coffee every 1/2 mile in that area on RT46. Starbucks is an overpriced ripoff so count me out.
Starbucks is for adults who like horrible coffee....with the fields full of kids playing sports, Burger King imho is more practical and I like more than McDonald's but like McDonald's coffee...White Castle would be nice

...some of you can't wait for the Starbucks to open...

BK has been an eyesore for a while and the inside isn't all that clean. While I don't go to Starbucks, I'm glad to see Parsippany getting a business more trendy than the usual discount stores and nail salons.
It's a start. Now need to get something where Pathmark was. And the eyesore across the street from it. Lots of places in Parsippany need updating. Hopefully these new businesses help with property taxes?

...and for some, the closing brought up other township issues.

I don't care about Starbucks but would like to see a cross walk and another enter/exit on to 46. Kids will be walking there from games and practices I'm sure, and that road is crazy over there...
I am tired of all the chains. East Hanover Ave, for one, is turning into Rt 10. New strip malls going up everywhere while shops remain empty in existing malls. It's awful and a waste of resources.

Will you be visiting Burger King for one last time today? Or are you already thinking about your coffee order for the Starbucks opening?
