Par-Troy Drops Opener in Little League World Series
Team battles raindrops, errors in loss to San Antonio in Williamsport.
Threatening gray skies were overhead Williamsport's Lamade Stadium Friday afternoon, making drizzle and rain the backdrop to the Par-Troy East All-Stars' first field appearance at the 2012 Little League World Series. Perhaps the gloomy weather had an effect on the boys, as PTLLE fell to San Antonio, Texas, 5-2.
Par-Troy East, the visiting team, got off to a rousing start when Emil Matti knocked a line drive to center for a stand-up double. But, establishing the game's tone, the runner was not able to advance, and for the majority of the contest, the team seemed unable to create momentum.
The exception to that came in inning four, when PTLLE came together to produce two runs against pitcher Tyler Vitt.

For San Antonio's part, its first inning started off with a home run. And while the undefeated Southwest Region champ proved sharp on the field, as the game progressed, the story became more about PTLLE errors than about Texan achievements.
In the end, the errors were insurmountable and the win went to the Texas All-Stars.
