Longtime Lake Hiawatha Resident, Navy Veteran, Fireman Dies at 74

John McGovern wasn’t afraid to put himself on the line.
The longtime Lake Hiawatha resident died Sunday at the age of 74, according to his obituary.
McGovern was born and raised in Newark before moving to Lake Hiawatha in 1976. He served in the United States Navy as well.

McGovern was a Stationary Fireman at Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Township for many years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, and two daughters.
