'Made in Parsippany:' Local TV Show Hosted by Couple

It began with a ‘trading places’ situation two years ago when husband Brian quit his job after 10 years in corporate sales and became a stay-at-home Dad to his 3 young daughters. Meanwhile his wife Pam kept her job (based in Parsippany) as a pharmaceutical copywriter and says she is thoroughly enjoying the ’new’ way of life. ”I was home with the kids for 5 years, so I know what Brian is going through now....but I am truly enjoying my job and love watching Brian enjoy his time with the kids” says Pam.

The inspiration for the show, which reaches a little under 400,000 homes in NJ, came partly from Brian’s association with Regis Philbin from his college internship at WABC-TV in New York. ”Regis was always so down to earth and approachable - and I enjoyed how he told personal stories from his own life to his audience every day” says Brian. ”We have tried to keep a similar feel with Pam and I discussing the mishaps and amusing stories that come from raising kids - and especially with our recent ‘role reversal.’” Brian continues to remain in contact with Regis and says that some networks have taken interest in the concept which he hopes will lead to something down the road. “Regis has really believed in a couple of TV show ideas I have been developing and helped me get in front of some networks. Perhaps Pam and I will invite him to be our first guest on The Brian & Pam Show in the near future.” But for now, Brian and Pam say they are just having fun with the show and hope to continue producing new episodes whether or not bigger networks get involved.

“We really enjoy making it. It seems people are connecting with the real challenges we face every day. And I think they secretly like watching Brian suffer just a bit,” says Pam.

The Brian & Pam Show airs in Morris County on Cablevision/Optimum Ch 21 at 9:30 AM on Saturday mornings, and is now also airing in additional Northern NJ counties on Friday evening at 7:00 PM on Cablevision/Optimum Ch 76.
