PARSIPPANY, NJ — A man was sentenced to nine years in prison Thursday for a police chase in a stolen vehicle that ended in Parsippany. Isaac Zackery-Barnes pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to eluding a police officer, receiving stolen property and operating a stolen vehicle during the police pursuit.
Hanover police commanded Zackery-Barnes to pull over Sept. 22, 2020, in a vehicle they later discovered was stolen from Nutley. The Newark man instead fled the scene, swerving through traffic.
Throughout the chase, Zackery-Barnes drove on the wrong side of the road, ran a red light, left the roadway, hit a curb and kept going. He continued onto an entrance ramp to Route 287, where two tires in his vehicle blew out.
