Man Sexually Assaulted, Robbed Teen At Parsippany Hotel: Prosecutor
The suspect brought a handgun to the Holiday Inn in Parsippany, authorities said.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — A man sexually assaulted and robbed a 19-year-old Dec. 24 at the Holiday Inn in Parsippany, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Earl L. Kelly, who police apprehended Friday, faces several charges.
Kelly, 36, of Hamilton (Mercer County), brought a handgun to the Route 46 hotel, according to authorities. He was apprehended in Edison two weeks later and charged with the following (one count unless noted otherwise):
- four counts of aggravated sexual assault (first-degree)
- two counts of sexual assault (second-degree)
- two counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact (third-degree)
- criminal sexual contact (fourth-degree)
- robbery (first-degree)
- unlawful possession of a weapon (second-degree)
- possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (second-degree)
- aggravated assault (fourth-degree)
- criminal restraint (third-degree)
Officials took Kelly to the Morris County Jail.
