Massive Party Thrown By Rapper Shut Down In East Hanover: VIDEOS

Eight police departments had to shut down the party after about 1,000 people showed up, with even more on the way.

EAST HANOVER, NJ — An East Hanover Fourth of July party thrown by a local rapper was shut down after nearly a thousand people showed up, East Hanover Police said.

Rapper Fatboy SSE hosted the part on Cedar Street Wednesday afternoon, and it quickly attracted a massive crowd. Detective Andrew Underwood told Patch that between 800 to 1,000 revelers were at the party when police arrived, and it appeared that even more were on the way.

The party was so large it took police officers from eight different departments to shut it down: New Jersey State Police, Florham Park Police, Hanover Twp. Police, Madison Police, Roseland Police, Livingston Police, Parsippany Police, and the Morris County Park Police.

As a result, several arrests were made, Underwood said. Two were arrested for drugs, one person was issued a summons for public urination, and one was taken to a nearby hospital for intoxication. No injuries were reported. The party remains under investigation by the East Hanover Detective Bureau.

The party had been promoted on Fatboy SSE's Twitter account, with some boasting that it would be the "biggest pool part of the summer." According to an ad for the bash, it was set to start at 1 p.m., and would have tight security. An email address for RSVPs was listed, but it's unclear if all of the attendees had responded to the email.
