Mayers, Serrao Help PHS Girls Advance

Parsippany girls soccer earns No. 4 seed.

The Parsippany girls soccer team rolled to an impressive 11-4-2 regular season record this year. That success was good enough to earn the girls the No. 4 seed for the upcoming North 2, Group II sectional tournament.

Led by leading goal scorer Tiffany Kelly, who according to NJ.com has 16 goals this season, Parsippany will get set to host 13th seeded Ridgefield Park in a first round game on Monday.

The Par Hills girls soccer team will also compete for a sectional title, this one of the North 2, Group III variety. Seeded sixth, the Vikings will play host to 11th seeded Rahway on Monday.

The Par Hills boys will have their work cut out for them as they head to face third-seed Chatham High in a North 2, Group III first round game.  Par Hills (14th seed) is 6-11-2 this season.

Both Parsippany-area high school field hockey teams will also be fighting for a North 1, Group III title as Par Hills (10th seed) visits seventh seeded Passaic Valley on Saturday.

Parsippany (seeded eighth) stopped ninth seeded River Dell, 4-1, in a first round game on Friday, according to NJ.com. Krysten Mayers added three goals for Parsippany in the win and Kelly Serrao had nine saves.

Friday:

Nicole Herrmann had 11 kills and five digs to pace the Parsippany girls volleyball team past Kinnelon, 2-0, according to NJ.com. Luisa Garcia added nine kills and eight digs for Parsippany (15-9).

Coming Up:

  • Par Hills boys soccer vs. Hopatcong, Saturday at 10 a.m.
  • Par Hills vs. Roxbury, Saturday at 1 p.m.
