Minimum Wage Slave Labor Force Parsippany Clean Communities.

Ordinances concerning litter, trash and property maintenance , keeping streets sidewalks, adjoining properties public spaces clean a must.

It must be explained why our “minimum wage summer labor force” paid for with “clean communities monies generated from litter taxes should no longer be used as slave labor “emptying trash cans” along North Beverwyck Road. The Administration must figure out how to have the property owners and business and franchise clientele to meet their obligations as stated in Town Ordinances and what should be common sense, obvious responsibilities toward the community and their immediate adjoining public properties.

Clean communities funding is given to be used at discretion by local administration; this discretion, however concerning areas in need of litter abatement’ not emptying trash cans filled with business and household trash, which enables what should be illegal behavior toward the community. Parsippany has other areas where this labor force can be used; river sensitive areas, along the Rockaway and Whippany rivers, public parks and places like Knoll Road, Vail Road, Troy Meadows, and I’m sure other places you would know better than me. Westbrook newly acquired open space to be used for passive cooperation will surely degenerate with litter and trash, once open to the public, serious considerations as to how this new “park” will be managed should be thought out intelligently, perhaps Hours of operation with a gate, and perhaps volunteers asked for in its upkeep, especially from trash.

Paying litter taxes and then tipping fees for mass produced consumption past times should not be wasted again in expending a labor force also paid with the same money; a three/four time cost all by tax payers. 1. advertising & litter tax already included in the price of the product 2. tipping fees for disposal volumes and tonnage 3. salaries in Sanitation department work force 4. Use of funding in salaries for the summer workforce.

Having labored myself along Greenbank Road and Knoll Lane near Knoll West it may be said tremendous amounts of trash and litter are simply tossed and dumped. This River Sensitive area is in constant need of abatement and law enforcement if and when possible.

Finally if it was not for the summer labor force almost no one would be present for Rockaway River Clean-up. This is about the only time this labor force expands outside the realms of doing what store, franchise and property owners should be doing as good members of the community.

It should not be impossible to instill conscience discipline into the Sanitation Departments workforce, helping to keep our street s clean, nor should it be to assets various neighborhoods and locations for non compliance with ordinances to prevent loss of clean community, land ethic.

The whole Nation needs to admit what our landscapes have turned into; landfills. Loss of land ethic is loss of all good human gifts inherit in our species. We must as a collective care and love our country. Corporate responsibility and individual conscience discipline is totally lacking. America is not beautiful. Wake up and see the disgrace.
