Morris County School Lockdown Came From System Malfunction: Police
Authorities determined there was no actual emergency, and the school returned to normal activities.
DENVILLE, NJ — A local school locked down Thursday morning after the panic button went off. But law enforcement determined there was no actual emergency at the Morris County School of Technology.
Officers and emergency personnel responded to the facility just before 10:30 a.m. The school had been put on lockdown after the panic button's activation, according to the Denville Police Department.
After a thorough check of the campus, officials determined the button went off because its system malfunctioned. The school — part of the Morris County Vocational School District — has since returned to normal activities, police said at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
