New Parsippany Café Run By Workers With Special Needs

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A new type of place to grab a coffee recently opened in Parsippany. The Clean Water Café is nonprofit, operates within a church and is run by individuals with special needs.

The café is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday inside Liquid Church (299 Webro Rd.). Mayor James Barberio cut the ribbon Monday as the establishment celebrated its grand opening.

Clean Water Café uses its proceeds to provide clean, safe drinking water to children in Africa and Central America. So far, the café has created 350 wells in nine nations.

"Nothing can happen without love and that is what I see here today, everyone coming together to support people and a cause that they love," Barberio said. "Thank you Liquid Church for including the community of Parsippany in this generous and noble cause."
