NJ School Counselor Found Dead In Park, Officials Say

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A multi-agency search is over after a Parsippany man who was reported missing was found dead.

Cavan Londergan, 49, was last seen on Monday in Madison, according to police.

His disappearance sparked a major search effort from the Madison Police, NJSP, Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and Office of Emergency Management.

Investigators pursued a lead to search Summerhill Park in Madison, where Londergan was found dead Tuesday night.

While the investigation is underway, Londergan's death is not believed to be suspicious, prosecutors say.

Londergan is reportedly a guidance counselor at Lake Parsippany Elementary School. He is a Parsippany High School graduate and has coached and taught in the area for more than 20 years.
