Par-Troy Exec Brings Work-Life Issues to DC
Solix CEO will participate in a bipartisan Congressional briefing on an issue important to anyone who has a job.

A Parsippany executive will head to Capitol Hill to speak out on work-life balance in U.S. businesses.
John C. Parry, chief executive officer of , will speak before a bipartisan Congressional briefing focusing on workplace flexibility and work-life balance policies as a means to boost the nation's competitiveness.
Parry will be the only CEO representing a for-profit organization. He will also be the only panel participant from the Garden State.

"It’s an honor to be selected to address the issue of work-life policies in Congress,” he said. “I look forward to sharing with the senators the story of our success and the philosophy behind it while also emphasizing the importance it has as a sound business strategy to keep our country competitive.”
Joining Parry will be: moderator Kathleen Christensen of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Hank Jackson, president and CEO of Society for Human Resources Management and author Tammy Erickson, a McKinsey Award-winner who has written extensively on the changing workforce and organizations.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) organized the briefing.

Many U.S. workers are faced with the undesirable choice between meeting the demands of work and the needs of their families. The tensions between work and family thatso many Americans experience arise from a serious mismatch between the way that the U.S. workplace is organized and the needs of an increasingly diverse workforce.
Our panelists will present examples and evidence of how workplace flexibility is in the best interests of employees, employers and our nation.
The briefing takes place Tuesday, May 22 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Senate Visitors Center in Washington, D.C.
