Par-Troy East LL Opens 50th Season

Hundreds on hand to cheer on players.

When the baseball season kicked off weeks ago, John Bucciarelli, Par-Troy East Little League president, and his board decided to host its opening day celebration later in the month with the hope of better weather. That decision paid off as hundreds of players, parents, dignitaries and friends attended festivities Saturday morning under a beautiful sky to celebrate the start of the season and the golden anniversary of the league.

In total, 53 teams were represented on DeLio Field. Leading the parade was Mr. Met, who also threw out the first pitch. PTE has approximately 570 children, ages 4-16. Bucciarelli thanked the many volunteers and supporters of the organization in his opening remarks.
