Parsippany Getting $316K For N. Beverwyck Road Revamp
The township will receive some state funding to help with the changes coming to North Beverwyck Road.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — The township will receive some funding for its revamp of North Beverwyck Road. The state allotted $316,400 for Phase 2 of streetscaping the roadway.
The funds will come from New Jersey's Municipal Aid grant program. Staff from the New Jersey Department of Transportation reviewed 625 applications from 547 cities and towns. Ultimately, 541 municipalities will get 546 grants, totaling $161.25 million.
“These funds are crucial to municipalities for the completion of projects that improve quality of life and safety for New Jersey residents,” said Governor Phil Murphy.

"Our refurbishment of North Beverwyck Road began with the installation of signs bearing its original name: Washington's Trail," Soriano said in December. "It continued with a major walkability study conducted in partnership with The College of New Jersey, and plans for streetscaping improvements to make this downtown a more walkable destination."
Under the Municipal Aid grant program, each county is apportioned a share of the total funding based on population and the number of local centerline miles. Municipalities compete for portions of their county’s share. NJDOT provides 75 percent of the grant amount when a town awards a contract and the remaining 25 percent upon completion of the project.
