Parsippany Grad Looking At A Bright Future

Dominique Fortes has a bright future ahead of her, deciding between Oxford, a Fulbright scholarship, or a high profile job.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Senior year of college is a stressful time for many, as students plan their next steps in life. For one Parsippany native, it's not whether she'll have something line up, but which of three incredible offers she'll accept.

Dominique Fortes, a senior at Seton Hall University, is faced with deciding between a job offer from Ernst & Young, continuing her studies at the University of Oxford, or accepting a Fulbright award.

“I never imagined I would have all these opportunities. I am feeling blessed because if I hadn’t come to Seton Hall, I most certainly wouldn’t be in the position I am in now," Fortes said.

"I love that Seton Hall is so caring and diverse. In my classes, we sometimes discuss controversial issues; everyone has different ideas and opinions, but I like that we share our ideas in a very respectful way. Seton Hall teaches us to understand that people have different viewpoints and this makes it easier for us to be more accepting of others’ ideas," she said. "Seton Hall has made me more confident and ready for the future. I owe so much to the faculty. They have been so impactful and really pushed me to do my best and excel.”
