Parsippany Grandmother, 64-Year Resident Dies at 97

June Aalholm taught for 40 years.

June Aalholm spent more than half her life living in Parsippany, and four decades teaching others.

The former Par Troy Flower Club died recently at the age of 97, according to her obituary.

Aalholm was born on July 8, 1917 in Cincinnati, Ohio, raised in Pamona, California and lived in Parsippany for the last 64 years. Aalholm graduated the University of California, Santa Barbara and received her Master’s Degree from New York University in Social Work.

Aalholm taught elementary school in California; Orange, New Jersey; and finally in Livingston, New Jersey for more than 25 years.

Aalholm loved to sew and arrange flowers. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Malcolm.

She is survived by her daughter and two grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
