Parsippany Gymnastics Coach Took 'Inappropriate' Pics Of Girls At Practice, Meets: Police

The man, who decried abusive coaching tactics on his website, was charged with manufacturing and possessing child sexual abuse material.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A gymnastics coach who lives in Lake Hiawatha took "inappropriate" pictures of girls during meets and competitions, New Jersey State Police announced Thursday. Nicholas Adair was charged with manufacturing and possessing child sexual abuse material.

Law enforcement began investigating "Coach Nick" in January after referrals from other agencies. Police executed a search warrant on Adair's home March 30 and arrested him.

During the search, detectives seized Adair's cell phone, which contained multiple files of child sexual abuse material, according to State Police. The 24-year-old is detained in the Morris County Jail pending trial.

It wasn't immediately clear where or during what time frame Adair allegedly took the pictures.

Adair had been coaching all levels of recreational and competitive gymnastics, according to his website.

"My focus in coaching is on positivity and encouragement as a way to improve gymnastics performance, instead of emotional or physical abuse, degradation, or any number of unacceptable coaching methodologies," Adair wrote.
