Parsippany Man Was Drunk Driving When He Almost Crashed Into Cop Car, Police Say
25-year-old crashed into construction equipment area, hit several parked car, police report.

Just seconds after narrowly missing a collision with a marked police car, a Parsippany man crashed into a construction site and several parked cars on Thursday, Oct 30, police said.
Around 9:30 p.m. Officer Jaime Mendez was heading north on Littleton Road when a four-door Mazda, travelling at a high rate of speed, exited Kingston Road and nearly collided with the cop car, police said.
Mendez was able to avoid the collision and saw the vehicle cross over Littleton Road and crash into the fenced-in construction equipment area used by Union Paving and Construction, police said. The area was unoccupied at the time.

During the crash, the vehicle also struck a fence and several parked cars, police said. The force was enough to move a parked vehicle out of its spot, police said.
Mendez found the driver, Jeegarkum Vaishnani, 25, who was uninjured. After an investigation, Mendez arrested Vaishnani for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The driver was taken to police headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated and also received summonses for careless driving and failure to stop or yield.
