PARSIPPANY, NJ — After getting “stuck” in a jam, Parsippany Mayor Pulkit Desai got some helping hands this weekend during the storm.
While on his way to check on Parsippany’s Department of Public Works crews, Desai’s car got stuck in the snow.
Luckily, two helpful citizens were in the area and helped the mayor dig out his car so he could get to the DPW crews safely.

The save came as snow pummeled Parsippany, leaving procrastinative shovelers roughly 13 inches of snow to take care of Monday morning.
Parsippany DPW workers worked through Sunday night into Monday morning to continue plowing the streets.
“The road crew is very appreciative of our residents keeping the vehicles off the roads,” Desai said. “Let’s take care of each other Parsippany.”
Parsippany municipal offices were closed Monday, as well as all Parsippany schools, as a result of the storm.
Officials remind residents that sidewalks and handicap parking spots, along with the area around fire hydrants on your property, must be cleared of snow and ice within 24 hours of the storm stopping.
Additionally, accumulated snow and/or ice on your vehicle must be removed prior to driving. Failure to do so may result in fines up to $1,500.
