Parsippany School Board Election: How To Submit Debate Questions
The public has until Sept. 25 to submit questions for the debate. Here's how.

PARSIPPANY, NJ – Seven candidates running for Parsippany’s Board of Education will soon debate, and the public has the chance to ask them questions.
The debate will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at Parsippany High School. The League of Women Voters of the Morristown Area – one of the organizations hosting the debate – will livestream it on the chapter’s YouTube channel and leave the debate available for future viewing.
The public can submit questions for candidates by 6 p.m. Sept. 25 via this Google form.
The Woman's Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills will cohost the debate with the League of Women Voters. The League wrote the following on the Google form for submitting questions:

“We encourage residents to submit questions prior to the event. A pool of questions will be chosen by a non-partisan coalition from among the questions submitted.
We reserve the right to edit questions for length, clarity, or language, and to consolidate multiple questions on one topic into a single question. Questions must be issue-related and relevant to the Board of Education position. Your name and contact info is required but will not be disclosed.”

The following candidates are running for three available seats with three-year terms:
- Kendra Von Achen, incumbent
- Andrew Choffo, incumbent
- Alison C. Cogan, incumbent
- Yvonne Ferise
- Michelle Shappell
- Jack S. Raia
- Falgun Bakhtarwala
Parsippany doesn't have municipal elections this year. But the township will vote in races for the Morris County Board of Commissioners and for Congress in New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. Election Day is Nov. 8.
